Finally! Dermaplane-er that uses real razor blades!
So glad to have found this line of razors. I have the 3 blade body shaver, which is awesome. I bought this second, and I dont know why it took me so long. I am a regular dermaplane-er and have a few handles with replaceable blades. Those are better than drugstore disposable ones, but like most razors, the blade replacement is expensive - they are specialized and propriety. Especially annoying and expensive when you only one or two uses. This tool uses a special guard, alongside a standard single sided razer blade, just like the ones in the body shaver. I just gave my face the best shave, it was AMAZING. And now i dont have to feel guilty about using the blade only one or two times before replacing. The weight and balance of the tool feels good in the hand, and allows a clean shave with little to no pressure applied. It has a little guard that covers half of the blade, so one can maneuver around detailed areas such as nose and brows. 100% recommend.

Steel vs plastic is better for the environment
If you are someone who wants to use less plastic, this is a good alternative if you already use a derma planer. I like using more of a straight edge on my face, particularly when doing my brows, than a regular razor as it gives me more control. I also prefer the control I get while shaving those pesky, hormonal-based chin hairs until I can get a treatment appointment.I have been using plastic dermaplaners for years, for just "shaving" purposes. When I have a fresh blade, I can cut the hairs down and not have ingrown hair problems, so switching to this device seemed like a good thing. I will admit, I did not realize I still had 2 new, plastic items when I bought this, but oh well. I will use the plastic ones for traveling, given that they are light weight.I really like the weight of the device. It is a little heavier than plastic, and my hand grips it well. I like being able to purchase blades and guards in packs of 10, so I don't worry about not having a new blade when I need it. I also like knowing that if I were to buy a razor for the shower, they use the same blades.I used my derma planers as straight edge razors like the old days. I used it with my facial wash and life was good. Then, I watched the videos and thought, hum, I've been doing this all wrong. So, I got out my almond oil, spread it on my face, then proceeded to micro blade like the video showed me. I ended up with ingrown hairs, and some cut skin.My advice, if you are buying this to replace your derma planers just to get rid of the hairs you want, continue to use this in that manner and leave the micro blading to the professionals. Continue to exfoliate your face the way you normally do it, else you could end up with ingrown hairs. Perhaps this only happened to me because I have ultra-sensitive skin, but using derma planers in the past did not cause ingrown hairs. Besides, the oil clogs the blade, which is why you need to replace them so often. I don't really want to remove peach fuzz, just hairs I have my electrologist remove when I am between appointments. This device works well to get that close cut, without taking skin layers with it.If I had to do this all over again, would I rebuy the device? I don't know, particularly since I found a few other plastic ones in my drawer. I have not tried using this device on say my legs, as I like to keep things I use on my face separate from items I use on other parts of my body. Now that I will not be using the oil, micro blade method, I suspect it will be a while before I get through the 10 fresh blades, as cutting a few hairs doesn't dull the blade as quickly for me. If you have a lot of facial hair that you are tackling, you may go through blades faster, so that would make your ROI a bit better.

High quality item
I use in conjunction with the oil to shave my face at least once a week. My makeup goes on much easier now. The cheap drug store alternatives felt too rough on my skin. This is the opposite. It has heft and glides well. It takes skill though - it will definitely give you a few knicks during the learning curve. But the shave can’t be beat.

Alright
Like that it allows me reduce plastic waste. Price is definitely worth it long term but there is a learning curve to using it. Haven't been able to confidently use around brows just yet.

Not so easy....
I wanted to get this dermaplaner Because I have the 3 headed regular razor and I like it.I am trying to buy things that have no plastic and are reuseable as much as I can.It is a nice and heavy tool.Issue is when it comes to switching the blades the prossess way so hard and bent the blades trying to chang them out.I like that it's easy to swivel open but trying to closed it kept catching on the blade.I watched videos But it did not help.I returned it and now I have a different blade from a different company.

I love it !!!!
I love this product so much. I’m huge on saving and helping the earth and I used to buy so many of those plastic ones. Now I’m not. All I have to do is replace the blade every 3 uses but honestly I’ve switched after 5 uses. It looks clean and nice and feels good. I’m so happy for this product. I also enjoy the holder. One thing I will maybe wish it had was a protector to go over the blade so in case of it falling it won’t cut anyone. But overall 9/10.BEWARE!!!! It’s super sharp just make sure to practice and go slow :)
